Dos or DuoThe Ringbox22 - 28 Feb at 7.15pm Tickets $20 (Conc, Tue & Group $16) A delightfully clever physical farce, Dos or Duo brings a charming and unique injection of comedy to the rich and varied circus line up in the Garden of Unearthly Delights this year. Using brilliantly crafted clowning, acrobatics and aerials, Dos or Duo is an absurd and intelligent exploration of the world of two lost and endearing characters, armed only with each other, some rope, a piece of chalk…and a pig. Contemplating meaning within their indefinable and curious surroundings, this is the kind of high jinx that might take place if Charlie Chaplin and Harpo Marx met Samuel Beckett at the circus. The warmly foolish characters and sharp acrobatic skills are outstanding in this ingeniously timed and unadorned yet striking production, featuring two of Australia’s most energetic and versatile performers. Stuart Christie and Kane Peterson both honed their art at Australia’s National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne. Between them they have a wealth of international experience, including Kage Physical Theatre, Circus Oz, Circus Monoxide and Circus Risqué. Dos or Duo premiered at the 2009 Melbourne Fringe where it was nominated for Best Circus Show and received a Highly Commended award.
