Taking inspiration from art-house cinema and the ethos of punk rock, The Dirty Brothers have created a new form of extreme visceral theatre. They call it “Sideshow Noir.” Swords, staple guns, singing saws, power tools and car batteries are just some of the costars in this dreamscape of deranged delights. From the surreal to the sublime and just plain funny this is a theatrical event like no other. Think Samuel Beckett meets the Tokyo Shock Boys and makes a silent movie. The Dirty Brothers are sideshow veteran Shep Huntly, ex rock star and kids clown Dirty Pat Bath, and Australian sideshow’s newest star, The Great Gordo Gamsby. The kamikaze clown princes of sideshow, a rebel alliance smashing conventions and creating inventions that show us what sideshow might become. The Dark Party premiered in Melbourne in 2008 and since then has performed to packed houses in Auckland, Adelaide, Edinburgh and the Sydney Opera House.
