The Arts Centre Forecourt, 100 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne Lea DeLaria is Naked...Thur 13 and Fri 14 Nov at 7pm Tickets $40.00 ($35.00) Presented by Adelaide’s Feast Festival in association with Sydney Opera House and Brisbane Powerhouse by arrangement with Paul Lucas Productions Lea DeLaria is Naked... combines Lea’s in-your-face stand-up, queer ethics, back-stage stories and the latest music from her fourth Warner Jazz CD “The Live Smoke Sessions.” Featuring Lea and a trio of fantastic jazz musicians, NAKED is a raw, fast paced evening of wild entertainment. Caution: Not for the faint of heart. US born, multi-award winning stand-up turned singer, Lea DeLaria has so many talents it’s hard to know where to begin! After starting her career in the early 80s, she quickly became a successful and controversial stand-up comedian, working the clubs for some years, before moving into TV and film work as an actress. She worked regularly in musical theatre, most notably on Broadway in her award winning performances in On the Town and The Rocky Horror Show. Her powerful voice was soon recognized by Warner Brothers records who produced her fi rst jazz vocal album, hailed by The Times as “..the best Jazz album of 2001.” Now moving between comedy, jazz, musical theatre and film, this unique and enormously talented artist presents her one of a kind blend of music and comedy. “Talks like a coffee grinder, and sounds like a cross between Ella Fitzgerald and a Broadway diva.” The Guardian “Lea DeLaria is blessed with one of the most beautiful voices around” Q Magazine www,delariadammit.com
